We are excited for you to visit Victor, CO this year to help us celebrate VCTA’s 26th anniversary as "Plein Air" artists from around the country gather to paint on location in our historic town.  Professional and Emerging artists participate in painting various scenes in and around the City of Victor and many nearby legendary 1890s gold mining sites.  Our show is judged by an established and respected professional artist, and original works produced for the show will be available for sale in the gallery.

All are welcome at this exciting and unique event!  As in previous years, we expect dozens of artists to participate, with more than 20 awards to be presented, with total cash prizes of over $4,000.00.  Thousands of visitors from many states attend the show and enjoy watching the artists painting around Victor. 

Friday, September 11th

2:00pm - 4:00pm - Victor Miners’ Union Hall Stakeholder Meeting at Victor City Hall hosted by the City of Victor.

5:30pm - 6:30pm - “June 6, 1904, the Breaking Point of the 1903-04 Cripple Creek Strike” presentation by La Jean Greeson at Victor City Hall.

Saturday, September 12th

9:00am - 10:00am - Dan Black’s Midland Terminal Railroad Walking Tour. Participants are asked to meet in front of Midland Terminal Depot at Granite and N 4th St.

9:00am - 5:00pm - Dan Black’s “Gold District Railroad-Themed Dioramas” at Victor City Hall’s Historic Fire Station Bay.

10:00am - 1:00pm - “Meet and Greet/Informal Show and Tell” at the Victor Community Center, corner of Portland and 2nd St.

1:30pm - 4:00pm - The Historic Home and Building Tour. Locations to be announced.

Sunday, September 13th

9:00am - 5:00pm - Dan Black’s “Gold District Railroad-Themed Dioramas” at Victor City Hall’s Historic Fire Station Bay.

10:00am - 11:00am - Friends of St. Victor’s Church Dedication Mass Celebration at corner of 2nd and Portland. Refreshments to follow at Victor Community Center.

11:30am - 12:30pm - Dan Black’s Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek “Short-Line” Walking Tour. Participants are asked to meet at the corner of Diamond and N 4th.

1:30pm - 2:30pm - Katherine Scott Sturedvant’s presentation on “John Harper, Deported Union Miner and the Victor Union Hall no. 32” at Cripple Creek Heritage Center. Light refreshments provided by the Heritage Center.
